Baseball Bat is a Melee Clubbing weapon that can be purchased from and sold to Big Al's Gun Shop.

The Baseball Bat was one of the items available at the launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]

The Baseball Bat has a stealth rating of 6.6.

Obtaining

The Baseball Bat is most commonly obtained as a purchase from Big Al's. It can also be found through city finds.

1,000 Baseball Bats will be restocked at Big Al's after being sold out. The amount of time before a restock occurs is half the time it took the item to sell out, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.

Baseball Bats can be bought from other players through the Item Market, Bazaars, or Trades, but as Melee weapons do not stack they must be purchased one by one, making it time consuming to buy in bulk.

A high quality Baseball Bat with a Weapon Bonus can be obtained by opening a Melee Cache. A Baseball Bat obtained this way can have a Damage stat up to 31 and an Accuracy stat up to 72.

Usage

The Duke Contract "Plainleth Dentitht" requires a target to be defeated using either a Baseball Bat or Duke's baseball bat, Penelope. Baseball Bats with bonuses that boost damage, such as Empower or Powerful, are sometimes used for this purpose.

Some players equip a Baseball Bat or another clubbing weapon with the Home Run bonus when Attacking to ward off an opponent's Temporary weapons such as the Flash Grenade. Due to the weapon's lower stats, Baseball Bats with less desirable bonuses are commonly traded in at Big Al's Bunker for Bunker Bucks.

Buffs

Players can gain Weapon Experience on Baseball Bats once the "CBT3870 Bachelor of Military Arts and Science" Education course has been completed. Baseball Bats, along with all melee weapons, receive a 10% damage bonus from the "Drunken Master" 3* special at Pubs and Restaurants, and a 2% damage bonus from the completion of the "HIS2170 Medieval History" course.

The Baseball Bat is affected by all universal buffs such as the 1% damage boost from completion of the "BIO2350 Evolution" course or the +3 accuracy from the "Seasoned Poacher" 10* Zoo special.
