Beretta M9 is a Secondary Pistol weapon that can be purchased from and sold to Big Al's Gun Shop.

The Beretta M9 was one of the items available at the launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]

Without any Ammo management buffs, the Beretta M9 can be used four to five times before needing to reload.

Usage

In Crimes 1.0, a Beretta M9 can be used to satisfy the requirement of having a Primary or Secondary weapon equipped to commit the Armed Robberies crime.

Some players equip a Beretta M9 or another Pistol weapon with the Execute bonus in their secondary slot to quickly take down opponents with low health. Due to the weapon's lower stats, Beretta M9s with less desirable bonuses are commonly traded in at Big Al's Bunker for Bunker Bucks.

Obtaining

The Beretta M9 is most commonly obtained through crimes. It can also be purchased from Big Al's, be found through city finds, and is a possible result from paying 75 job points to use the Private Security Firm 5* special, "Open Arsenal." [2]

The Beretta M9 can be found as a result of the following crimes:

Shoplifting:

  • "Big Al's Gun Shop" (quantity 1)

Burglary:

  • Residential:
  • Commercial:
    • "Barbershop" (quantity 1)

1,000 Beretta M9s will be restocked at Big Al's after being sold out. The amount of time before a restock occurs is half the time it took the item to sell out, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.

Beretta M9s can be bought from other players through the Item Market, Bazaars, or Trades, but as Secondary weapons do not stack they must be purchased one by one, making it time consuming to buy in bulk.

A high quality Beretta M9 with a Weapon Bonus can be obtained by opening a Small Arms Cache. A Beretta M9 obtained this way can have a Damage stat up to 51 and an Accuracy stat up to 69.

Buffs

The Beretta M9 can use all Weapon Mods that are compatible with Pistols. It can also use all four types of 9mm special ammo.

Players can gain Weapon Experience on Beretta M9s once the "CBT3870 Bachelor of Military Arts and Science" Education course has been completed. Beretta M9s and all primary and secondary weapons gain a 20% damage boost from the "Firearms Expert" 10* special and an extra clip from the "Bandolier" 7* special at Gun Shops.

Beretta M9s, along with all primary and secondary weapons, receive a 20% and 5% bonus to Ammo conservation from the "MTH3330 Bachelor of Mathematics" and "MTH2310 Discrete Mathematics" courses respectively. The "CBT2840 Study of Pistols" course gives +1 accuracy to all pistols.

The Beretta M9 is affected by all universal buffs such as the 1% damage boost from completion of the "BIO2350 Evolution" course or the +3 accuracy from the "Seasoned Poacher" 10* Zoo special.

Historical Notes

The Beretta M9 was originally referred to as the "m-9." It was updated to its current name in the second half of 2014. [3]

All Beretta M9s used to have the same damage and accuracy stats. Unique stats for each Beretta M9 were revealed in a December 2015 update. [4]

In the old Ammo system prior to the Attacking 2.0 update, ammo for the Beretta M9 costed $17 per clip. The icon for the ammo ( SmallPistol.png ) was a small pistol cartridge. [5]
