Axe is a Melee Clubbing weapon that can be purchased in Mexico. It can be sold to (but not purchased at) Big Al's Gun Shop.

The Axe was one of the items available at the launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]

The Axe counts as a Scary weapon during the yearly Trick or Treat Halloween event. It has a stealth rating of 5.9.

The Axe is commonly used during Halloween's Trick or Treat event due to its affordability compared to other Scary weapons. Axes with various Weapon Bonuses are commonly used during the event. Some players equip an Axe or another clubbing weapon with the Home Run bonus when Attacking to ward off an opponent's Temporary weapons such as the Flash Grenade.

The Axe can be obtained as a purchase from Mexico. It can also be found through city finds and be purchased from the Mission reward shop for four to five mission reward credits. [2]

The Axe can be found as a result of the following crimes:

100 Axes will be restocked in Mexico after being sold out. [3] The amount of time before a restock occurs is half the time it took the item to sell out, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.

Axes can be bought from other players through the Item Market, Bazaars, or Trades, but as Melee weapons do not stack they must be purchased one by one, making it time consuming to buy in bulk.

A high quality Axe with a Weapon Bonus can be obtained by opening a Melee Cache. An axe obtained this way can have a Damage stat up to 49 and an Accuracy stat up to 67. The Axe is the only Scary weapon that can have a weapon effect.

Players can gain Weapon Experience on Axes once the "CBT3870 Bachelor of Military Arts and Science" Education course has been completed. Axes, along with all melee weapons, receive a 10% damage bonus from the "Drunken Master" 3* special at Pubs and Restaurants, and a 2% damage bonus from the completion of the "HIS2170 Medieval History" course.

The Axe is affected by all universal buffs such as the 1% damage boost from completion of the "BIO2350 Evolution" course or the +3 accuracy from the "Seasoned Poacher" 10* Zoo special.

Historical Notes

All Axes used to have the same damage and accuracy stats. Unique stats for each Axe were revealed in a December 2015 update. [4]

Before the introduction of Travel, the Axe was available for purchase at Big Al's Gun Shop. [5]

The Axe could be purchased from the Mission reward shop for as few as three credits when special offers still existed for weapons and armor. [6]
