Fast-firing and very powerful. If you hit your opponent, he goes down and stays down. The magazine only holds eight rounds but the strength of each impact makes up for that.

Desert Eagle is a Secondary Pistol weapon that can be purchased in Mexico. It can be sold to (but not purchased at) Big Al's Gun Shop.

The Desert Eagle was one of the items available at the launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]

The Desert Eagle has a base fire rate between two to three rounds per turn and can fire eight rounds (over three to four turns) without reloading. It has a stealth rating of 4.3.

The Desert Eagle is unable to use special ammo outside of Hollow Points rounds, as they are the only special ammo available in .44 Special.

Obtaining

The Desert Eagle is most commonly obtained as a purchase from Mexico. It can also be found through city finds, received as a possible result from paying 75 job points to use the Private Security Firm 5* special, "Open Arsenal," [2] and purchased from the Mission reward shop for nine to 13 Mission reward credits. [3]

100 Desert Eagles will be restocked in Mexico after being sold out. [4] The amount of time before a restock occurs is half the time it took the item to sell out, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.

Desert Eagles can be bought from other players through the Item Market, Bazaars, or Trades, but as Secondary weapons do not stack they must be purchased one by one, making it time consuming to buy in bulk.

A high quality Desert Eagle with a Weapon Bonus can be obtained by opening a Small Arms Cache. A Desert Eagle obtained this way can have a Damage stat up to 69 and an Accuracy stat up to 46.

Usage

Some players equip a Desert Eagle or another pistol weapon with the Execute bonus in their secondary slot to quickly take down opponents with low health, although a Desert Eagle is not an optimal choice for Execute due to the weapon's low accuracy.

Buffs

Players can gain Weapon Experience on Desert Eagles once the "CBT3870 Bachelor of Military Arts and Science" Education course has been completed. Desert Eagles and all primary and secondary weapons gain a 20% damage boost from the "Firearms Expert" 10* special and an extra clip from the "Bandolier" 7* special at Gun Shops.

Desert Eagles, along with all primary and secondary weapons, receive a 20% and 5% bonus to Ammo conservation from the "MTH3330 Bachelor of Mathematics" and "MTH2310 Discrete Mathematics" courses respectively. The "CBT2840 Study of Pistols" course gives +1 accuracy to all pistols.

The Desert Eagle is affected by all universal buffs such as the 1% damage boost from completion of the "BIO2350 Evolution" course or the +3 accuracy from the "Seasoned Poacher" 10* Zoo special.

Historical Notes

Before the introduction of Travel, the Desert Eagle was available for purchase at Big Al's Gun Shop. [5] In the game's early days it was very popular as a secondary weapon among players who could not afford Dual 92G Berettas, but lost popularity after the release of the BT MP9.

The Desert Eagle originally had a capacity of seven rounds. This was updated to eight rounds to match the capacity of the gun's real life counterpart on 15 May 2018. [6]

All Desert Eagles used to have the same damage and accuracy stats. Unique stats for each Desert Eagle were revealed in a December 2015 update. [7]

In the old Ammo system prior to the Attacking 2.0 update, ammo for the Desert Eagle costed $70 per clip. The icon for the ammo ( rkdh2dS.png ) was a large pistol cartridge. [8]

The Desert Eagle could be purchased from the Mission reward shop for as few as seven credits when special offers still existed for weapons and armor. [9]
