A Weapon Mod is an attachment that can be used on a primary or secondary weapon in order to boost its stats or improve another facet of its utility.


Introduction

Attachments are a special kind of customization that can be added to a Weapon; each attachment will give your weapon a boost of some kind.

There are 12 categories of mods, most of which have several tiers (currently 30 in total). Higher tier mods only become available once all prior tiers are owned.

Mods are held in your mod inventory and can be attached to or removed from your equipped weapons. The mod inventory becomes available upon the purchase of a player's first mod. Mods can also be managed via the items page by clicking the "+" icon on equipped weapons.

Not all mods can be used with every weapon type. Restrictions are often based on the weapon's type. Such as dual weapons, have exclusions that only apply to them. Similarly Revolver type Pistols cannot equip Extended Magazines, or if weapon has Specialist bonus (limited to single magazine), then Extra Magazine cannot be equipped on your weapon.

Mod bonuses may be changed in the future if balancing is required.

Obtaining Mods

They are currently only available in the mission shop purchasable with mission credits. Note that a higher tier mod won't appear in the shop until you have bought all the previous tiers.

Sights

This is a mod which improves accuracy on your weapon, these are available on Machine Guns, Pistols, Rifles and SMGs.

Lasers

This is a mod which improves your chance at getting a critical hit against your opponent. Lasers are available for Machine Guns, Pistols, Rifles, Heavy Artillery, Shotguns, SMGs and for single Mechanical weapon(Taser).

Suppressors

This is a mod which improves your chance at Stealthing, but lowers your damage output. Suppressors are available for Pistols, Rifles and SMGs.

Extra Magazines

This is a mod which gives you additional magazines to use in a fight. Extra Magazines are available for Heavy Artillery, Machine Guns, Shotguns, Pistols, Rifles, SMGs and for single Mechanical weapon(Taser). If weapon has Specialist bonus (limited to single magazine), then this mod cannot be equipped.

Triggers

This is a mod that greatly improves accuracy on the first turn of a fight. Trigger mods will only give a bonus on turn one of a fight, not the first time a weapon is used in a fight. [1] Triggers are available for Machine Guns, Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns and SMGs.

Mounts

This is a mod which increase your accuracy at the cost of dexterity (evading attacks from your opponent). Mounts are available for Machine guns, Rifles and Heavy artillery.

Recoil Pads

This is a mod which Reduces the amount of bullets fired per turn. Recoil Pads are available for Machine guns, Rifles and Shotguns(except Blunderbuss, Homemade Pocket Shotgun, Nock Gun[2]).

Ammo control refers to the average number of rounds spent per turn. With bonuses to "control" or "management", a player will use less ammo per turn and have to reload less often, providing an advantage in longer fights.

Brakes

This is a mod which increases the accuracy at the cost of stealth. Brakes are available for Machine Guns, Pistols, Rifles and SMGs.

Lights

This is a mod which decreases the opponents Accuracy and their ability to Stealth. Lights are available for Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, SMGs and for single Mechanical weapon(Taser).

Exceptions

There are multiple mods that are not available for use with Dual Weapons, despite these mods being available for the relevant weapon category. For example, the Extended Mags cannot be equipped on Dual 92G Berettas.

Additionally, any mod equipped on a dual weapon will receive half the stated bonus. For example a +2% critical chance laser would provide only +1% critical chance when equipped on Dual 92G Berettas.

Revolvers and shotguns that do not utilize magazines (such as the Ithaca 37) are unable to equip extended magazines.

Historical Notes

  • A second Accuracy rebuild was implemented on 27/08/19.
  • Before the second Accuracy rebuild, weapon mods applied % bonuses to a weapons base accuracy, which was a hidden value between 1-500. The resultant Accuracy increases displayed on the weapon.
  • As of the Accuracy rebuild, several weapon modifier effects were altered:

  • Removed all shotguns from Extended Mags mod compatibility and clearly referenced revolvers in exclusions

  • Renamed Recoil Pad's "control" and Education's "ammo management" bonuses to "ammo conservation".
Patch list #179 : 09/02/21
  • Changed laser sight mods from +3%/+4%/+5%/+6% (up to +4.2% actual) to +2%/+3%/+4%/+5%.
Patch list #132 : 10/03/20
  • Changed 'rate of fire' educations / weapon mod to be additive and use stochastic rounding.
Patch list #22 : 28/11/17
  • Enabled mods page and ammo pool view while in jail/hospital.
