Minigun

Minigun is a Primary Machine Gun weapon that can be purchased in Mexico. It can be sold to (but not purchased at) Big Al's Gun Shop.
The Minigun was one of the items available at the official launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]
The Minigun has a base fire rate between 20 to 30 rounds per turn and can fire 200 rounds (over seven to ten turns) without reloading. It has a stealth rating of 1.3, the lowest of any Machine Gun. The Minigun is currently the highest damaging Machine Gun in the game.
Obtaining
The Minigun can be obtained as a purchase from Mexico. It can also be found through city finds, given as a mystery gift from the Wheel of Awesome, received as a possible result from paying 75 job points to use the Private Security Firm 5* special, "Open Arsenal," [2] and purchased from the Mission reward shop for ~480 to 581 Mission reward credits. [3]
115 Miniguns will be restocked in Mexico after being sold out. [4] The amount of time before a restock occurs is half the time it took the item to sell out, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.
Miniguns can be bought from other players through the Item Market, Bazaars, or Trades, but as Primary weapons do not stack they must be purchased one by one, making it time consuming to buy in bulk.
A high quality Minigun with a Weapon Effect can be obtained by opening a Heavy Arms Cache. A minigun obtained this way can have a Damage stat up to 87 and an Accuracy stat up to 43.
Usage
The Minigun and M249 SAW are the only two Machine Gun weapons that do not cost billions of dollars. As a result, both are often utilized to get the 1,000 Machine Gun finishing hits for the War Machine honor.
Miniguns with Weapon Bonuses such as Puncture or Specialist are capable of extremely high damage outputs- Specialist has further synergy with the minigun due to its extra high ammo capacity. Miniguns with Weapon Bonuses see occasional use in attacking, Faction Warfare, Ranked Wars, and NPC looting.
Miniguns without Weapon Bonuses are not often used as a main weapon, as the gun's high damage is balanced out by its very low accuracy. Due to its very high fire rate, the Minigun is sometimes used as a way to boost players' "rounds fired" statistic. The fire rate combined with its high damage makes the Minigun a popular pick for NPC fights, where accuracy is unimportant due to NPCs getting high enough Distraction to reduce their dexterity to effectively zero.
Buffs
Players can gain Weapon Experience on Miniguns once the "CBT3870 Bachelor of Military Arts and Science" Education course has been completed. Miniguns and all primary and secondary weapons gain a 20% damage boost from the "Firearms Expert" 10* special and an extra clip from the "Bandolier" 7* special at Gun Shops.
Miniguns, along with all primary and secondary weapons, receive a 20% and 5% bonus to Ammo conservation from the "MTH3330 Bachelor of Mathematics" and "MTH2310 Discrete Mathematics" courses respectively. The "CBT2820 Study of Machine Guns" course gives +1 accuracy to all machine guns.
The Minigun is affected by all universal buffs such as the 1% damage boost from completion of the "BIO2350 Evolution" course or the +3 accuracy from the "Seasoned Poacher" 10* Zoo special.

Historical Notes
In Torns's opening days, the Minigun was the most expensive item in the game and was considered to be the best weapon available, but as players had much less cash on average, few could afford it. As players grew richer the Minigun became more common, and was undisputed as the best Primary weapon until the release of the Jackhammer. A faction with a Minigun was considered to have a serious advantage in the earliest days of Faction warfare.
The Minigun was changed from a Heavy Artillery weapon to a Machine Gun weapon on 1 September 2020. [5] This was considered a buff, as Machine Guns can use more Weapon Mods than Heavy Artillery weapons.
All Miniguns used to have the same damage and accuracy stats. Unique stats for each Minigun were revealed in a December 2015 update. [6]
In the old Ammo system prior to the Attacking 2.0 update, ammo for the Minigun costed $3,000 per clip. The icon for the ammo ( ) was a large rifle cartridge. [7]
Before the introduction of Travel, the Minigun was available for purchase at Big Al's Gun Shop. [8]
