The Hard Drive was one of the items available at the official launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta.

Usage

Hard Drive has usage as planted evidence in Waste Facility (???) in the Arson crime.

Obtaining

The Hard Drive is most commonly obtained through crimes. In Crimes 1.0 the Hard Drive can be obtained through the "Computer Stall" shoplifting crime. It can also be found through city finds and can be traded between players.

The Hard Drive used to be classified as an Electronics item before the Electronics category was discontinued on 1 April 2024.

In the past there was a Market Stall shoplift crime explicitly for Hard Drives. It was consolidated into the "Computer Stall" shoplift crime.
