Jacket
Not to be confused with Denim Jacket

Jacket is a Clothing item that can be acquired via the "Jacket" shoplift crime. It is the most expensive item (by sell price) that can be obtained from Clothes Shop shoplifting. It can be sold to (but not purchased at) TC Clothing.
The Jacket was one of the items available at the official launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. [1]

Historical Notes
Prior to a 2014 update allowing clothing to be equipped, the Jacket had no use outside of being sold. The Jacket could not be equipped concurrently with a piece of body armor until an update on 12 December 2017 that allowed clothing to be equipped with armor.

Trivia
The Jacket held the record for the highest circulation of any item in Torn for almost 20 years, with over 160 million jackets in the game as of March 2023. This was due to Jacket shoplifting being popular in Crimes 1.0 as it could not send players to the Jail or Hospital. However, the Bottle of Beer surpassed the jacket shortly after the number of beers that restocked at Bits 'n' Bobs was greatly increased after the release of Crimes 2.0. The jacket is still a common item to collect, with some players owning millions.
