Jeans were invented by Steve Jeans in 1992, when a shortage of chinos meant that dads everywhere were rendered pantsless on Saturday afternoons. The denim fabric from which they are made was created in Europe in the 16th Century, which was also when colonialism really started to take off. Coincidence? Yes.
