The Krampus is a mythical figure taken from European folklore whose purpose was to scare the ever-loving hell out of misbehaving children during Christmas. Krampus' name comes from the German word krampen, meaning claw, as he is typically depicted as a dark, hairy beast with sharp talons, cloven hooves, and the horns of a goat. In some versions of his origin story, Krampus is said to be the brother of Saint Nicholas, and if this tale is ever told by Hollywood, the role of Krampus will likely be played by Harry Styles.
