Historical Notes
At release, Morphine took 100 minutes off a players hospital time but did not restore any life and had no cooldown. [6] Medical cooldown was added in a 2012 update [7], the Medical 2.0 update in 2015 gave Morphine the ability to restore life, [8] and the Medical Revamp 2021 changed the hospital time removal to 70 minutes. [9]
Prior to the release of Blood Bags in the Medical 2.0 update, Morphine was the strongest Medical item outside of Opium, and along with Revives was the most commonly used method of getting out of the Hospital.
Morphine was originally only obtainable through city finds and the Medical job special, and its price (along with the price of the First Aid Kit and Small First Aid Kit) steadily increased in the early years of the game until the Box of Medical Supplies was added in 2008.
Players were able to buy items from Bazaars while in Jail or Hospital for the first few years after the Bazaar's release, which lead to Bazaar owners marketing overpriced Morphine and other medical items to players stuck in the Hospital. This lead to Bazaars no longer being accessible while in the Hospital.
