Red Easter Egg

Red Easter Egg #474
Lookin' for a lil nerve, are ya? Thought so. Folks always come crawling back to old red when they're feelin' yellow. That happy little freak might make ya'll giddy inside, but old red will kick you in the balls and pull you up by your bootstraps. And then steal your boots. And kick you in the balls again. What was I sayin? Ah, who gives a rat's hole. Wanna burn a warehouse?
Increases nerve by 250 and booster cooldown by 6 hours.

Red Easter Egg is a Booster item that was released in April 2010 and was one of the original six colored Easter Eggs added to the game. [1] The Red Easter Egg is found during the annual Easter Egg Hunt and gives 250 Nerve when eaten. It cannot be sold to a store.

All Red Easter Eggs that existed on 23 March 2023 were converted into the Chocolate Egg, a one-time event that was meant to prevent players from having large stocks of eggs from previous years after their effect was changed. [2]

The Red Easter Egg can only be obtained during April. It can be obtained as Loot by defeating the Easter Bunny [17] [3] or from the Easter Egg Hunt, during which eggs spawn on-screen. The Red Easter Egg will be added to a player's inventory when clicking its corresponding icon.

The Red Easter Egg cannot be obtained through city finds and cannot be traded between players. The egg is in a three-way tie with the Green Easter Egg and Yellow Easter Egg for being the most common egg by spawn rate. [4]

Eating a Red Easter Egg increases a player's Nerve by 250 and increases Booster Cooldown by six hours.

Historical Notes

In the first year of the event, Easter Eggs were added directly to a player's inventory through random events when a player visited a section of Torn corresponding to that egg. The Red Easter Egg had a chance to be found when a player clicked Education. [5]

Eggs began to randomly spawn on-screen in 2011, during the second year of the Easter Egg Hunt. The Red Easter Egg gave 10 Nerve when clicked. [6] The only effect upon consumption was increasing a player's happiness by 50 and booster cooldown by 30 minutes. [7] All colored easter eggs with this effect were converted into Chocolate Eggs on 23 March 2023. 83,976 Red Easter Eggs were changed to Chocolate Eggs in total. The Red Easter Egg was also changed from a Candy item to a Booster item the same day.

The Red Easter Egg got a new image for the 2021 hunt as the egg was not considered red enough. [8]

Prior to the end of the 2022 Easter Egg Hunt, a full set of colored Easter Eggs could be traded in for a Gold Easter Egg, 20 Points, and the Good Friday honor while the event was running.
