Television is a Special item that can be acquired through larceny. It can be sold to (but not purchased at) the Super Store.
The Television was one of the items available at the official launch of Torn on 15 November 2004, having been introduced during the Torn City Beta. Torn City Beta. [1]
Obtaining
In Crimes 1.0 the Television can be obtained through the "Mansion" larceny crime, but only when a player's Crime Experience is lower. It can also be traded between players. Televisions cannot be found through city finds. [2]

Usage
Watching a Television converts energy to happiness. There is no usage cooldown and there are three different options for how much energy is to be used. With a 10 energy option, The Television has the highest energy option compared to any item with the same effect, such as the MP3 Player or Game Console.

The Television is an option to spend extra energy that is divisible by three that would otherwise be unused. These bits of energy can be obtained from a faction energy drink perk in the Voracity branch, use of Book : Higher Daddy, Higher!, or from using the one or three energy options on an MP3 Player, CD Player, Television, or Game Console.
Using the Television is optimal only for players with extremely low battle stats. If a player uses the Television, the 5 energy "Watch a Show" and 10 energy "Watch a Movie" options give the most happiness per energy spent.

Historical Notes
The Television was originally referred to as the "Big TV Screen." It was updated to its current name and given its current functionality on 23 June 2021. [4] Prior to this update, which changed several Electronics items, the Television had no use.
