Stealth Virus

Used by the Hacker role during the Stacking the Deck scenario.
Used by the Hacker role during the Manifest Cruelty scenario.Stealth Virus is a Tool item (Virus) that was released in late 2004. [1] It can be acquired through virus programming and can be sold to (but not purchased at) Cyber Force.
The Stealth Virus is used in "Plant a Computer Virus" crimes.
Obtaining
The Stealth Virus can be programmed using a Personal Computer, Laptop, or Gold Laptop after completion of the CMT2560 Algorithms and Advanced Programming Education course. A Stealth Virus takes 100 days to program. It can also be traded between players. Stealth Viruses cannot be found through city finds. [2]
The programming time for a Stealth Virus can be reduced through various methods. With all Education completed, the Stealth Virus's programming time will be 70 days, or 17 days with all coding time reductions. Viruses always finish coding shortly after 03:25 TC Time. [3] Programming will continue even if a player disposes of all their computers.

Usage
Stealth Virus is used in the following Organized Crimes 2.0:
- Hacker role during the Manifest Cruelty scenario. The item is used up and lost.
- Hacker role during the Stacking the Deck scenario. The item is used up and lost.
In Crime 1.0 the Stealth Virus is required to do the "Stealth Virus" Virus crime. This crime is popular as it is a safe crime that cannot send a player to the Jail or Hospital and gives more money and Crime Experience than any other Virus crimes.
The Stealth Virus is not consumed upon use, and can be reused for the crime.

Stealth Virus was used in Counter Offer scenario until Patch list #403 : 30/09/2025, when it was replaced with Polymorphic Virus.
