Meteorite Fragment
Meteorite Fragment #1488

he vast majority of meteorites that hit our planet are older than Earth itself. You could describe each impact as a form of intergalactic child abuse, if you were so inclined. Several thousand years ago, a giant iron meteorite exploded over Chaco Province, Argentina, scattering a 60km stretch with lethal metal souvenirs. This fragment almost certainly hails from that fall, a piece of the Campo del Cielo, or Field of the Sky, prized today less by scientists than by smugglers. Due to the meteorite's high metal content, you are advised to hide this item in your suitcase when bringing it home, as attempting to smuggle it rectally will almost certainly set off the airport metal detectors.
